It is not unusual to skip one cycle in most women so if you are sexual active, always check the urine test first for pregnancy after you miss period for 5 days, regardless of protected sex or not or using contraception. If there is no evidence of pregnancy (no sex or negative test), you should see a GYN doctor when you do not have period for 3 months, i.e. secondary amenorrhea.
