The expiration date on these OTC meds is the last date when its potency is considered valid. Use after that date does not make it dangerous. It is most likely not as effective. If it is used regularly by any family member I would consider tossing and replacing it. I don't find it a particularly helpful medication for adults and never use it for kids.
