A member asked:

How long does physical/occupational therapy typically last after finger tendon surgery? i was initially told i would be going 2x/week for six weeks, plus doing daily exercises at home, but am almost three weeks in and not noticing a huge difference?

PT/OT establish goals such as strength, range of motion, and functional ability. Every patient has their own individual goals and recovery timeline. The orthopedic surgeon also typically can weigh in on the post-op recovery in terms of complications and healing. Tendons in the hand are very small and delicate, rehab and patience must take that into account
