A member asked:

Does venous sinus stenosis give me an elevated risk of stroke or aneurysm or anything? was told i have this after mri & angiogram secondary to iih, therefore weight loss instead of stenting is advisable.but what are the risks of the stenosis itself?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Untreated venous sinus thrombosis is indeed a cause of Increased Intracranial Pressure (Pseudotumor Cerebri), and is associated with strokes, but has nothing to do with aneurysms. Your various treatment options should be thoroughly discussed with an experienced neurologist or neurosurgeon.
