At age "49", increased estrogen is generated by aging eggs needing more pituitary stimulus for ovulation to occur, and the amount of estrogen in low dose oral bcp's is much lower than that made in the stimulated ovaries without use of bcp's, the use of which stops ovarian production of estrogen. Mammograms are more accurate with less breast stimulus while on low dose oral bcp's.
