Is brown discharge normal during ovulation? day 11 and 12 of my cycle and i'm having darker brown stringy discharge along with lighter brown spotting, also bloated and some cramping. this doesn't happen every cycle, but i've had this happen before?

Occasionally, ovaries will mature two eggs simultaneously, elevating the estrogen levels just prior to ovulation, and mild withdrawal bleeding may occur as estrogen levels drop just prior to ovulation, similar to the mechanism which initiates menstruation two weeks or so later. Ask your GYN physician about low dose oral bcp's, which stop ovarian estrogen production.
