Can you tell the difference between pink eye and a popped blood vessel in the eye and how can i know which one it is? (can pink eye only affect one eye or is it more often in both eyes??

By "popped blood vessel" you probably mean subconjunctival hemorrhage, i.e. bleeding under the surface of the eye. If so, usually only one eye, bright red (looks like blood) without soreness, irritation, etc. Pink eye (conjunctivitis) usually has general pink appearance and almost always itching and irritation, often with pus that accumulates overnight. It can be in one eye or both.
