The color is typical of hemorrhoids. They are veins enlarged by increased pressure within.

What you described is consistent with hemorrhoids. It would be prudent to avoid hard stools to prevent bleeding. You may take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water daily so that your urine is colorless. For the long term you may try to increase your intake of fiber foods.
