A member asked:

How long after total thyroidectomy feel pressure or tension when looking up? turning head to the side feels ok. what to do? thyroid removed on 4/15/13

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Give it time: It has only been 1 week since surgery. You will have inflammation in your neck from the surgery for weeks. This makes things feel tight when you stretch your neck by looking up. You need to give it at least 1 month for it to resolve.
