Hi, my gf got her period light on sunday and we had sex on monday and then her period stopped and she took a pregnancy test and it was negative. should we be concerned that she is pregnant?

If the bleeding happened to be associated with an early pregnancy the home test should have been positive, so there is a very low level of concern. You can repeat the test in a week or have her see her doctor for a blood test if you want to be even more certain.

Conception occurs within day or so of the sex. It takes about 3 weeks for the embryo to make enough HCG for a positive pregnancy test. Blood test may be done a day after a missed period. Home pregnancy tests should be done 4-5 days after the missed period. If the result is negative repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow instructions for the test carefully.
