Nexplanon is an implanted source of progestin, and may affect regularity of post-ovulatory menstruation. A "home" pregnancy test "eight days after unprotected sex" is too soon to detect a pregnancy. Wait another ten days and obtain a serum HCG test to be certain. Ampicillin is not known to affect the contraceptive action of Nexplanon.
