A member asked:

Why does my daughter (age 12) keep pooping in her pants?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

This is likely related to long term stool retention where the kid loses the sensation/ability to keep the anal outlet closed due to retained fecal mass. An abdominal x-ray often shows enlarged ballooning of the large bowel. Newer poop swirls around the outside of thick drier poop & leaks. A consultation with a PEDI-GI or Developmental Pediatrician can start you on the long road to recovery.
