Had a ultrasound of my chest today the tech said its just a cyst. are they common? do they have to be removed? its up above my breast to the left of my sternum. it does hurt sometimes. should i get a second opinion? i had a chest x-ray also?

Is the cyst located in the lung tissue? if so, a thoracic CT scan often is helpful. Otherwise a soft tissue cyst may be an infection, benign or malignant lesion. Pathology will be performed on the tissue. Discuss whether a CT and guided biopsy is possible. Watch for signs of infection and increase in the size of the cyst.
