A member asked:

Is it uncommon to faint while laying down?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You can "pass out" laying down but you don't faint. You faint when some stimulus causes a rapid pooling of blood in the veins of your lower body, reducing blood flow to the brain. The mechanics of this process are not present when you are lying down.
