The prognosis for infants with this label depends on the severity of the defect. Many die before birth and most have severe deformities of facial structures. Treatment is supportive and survival not expected beyond infancy. A consultation with a clinical geneticist, often found at medical schools or children's hospitals is recommended for guidance and a discussion of recurrence risk.
