Before the vaccine was in use as many as 70% of college age women tested HPV positive in serum studies. If you are positive it can be from 2 decades ago and earlier HPV vaccines did not provide coverage from all high risk strains. I would assume you share any strain with your spouse and there is no reason to stop sex if you do. Men are seldom if ever effected.
