At age "38", if not on oral birth control, the stimulation of increased estrogen production due to increased stimulation of your ovaries secondary to aging residual eggs results in more fibrocystic breast disease, with higher breast sensitivity. See your GYN physician for an exam, and guidance. Oral bcp's will diminish breast changes by estrogen suppression of ovaries.
