How to know the difference between implantation bleeding and period? how long does it last? and when can i do a hpt?

See below: Implantation bleeding may occur 5-10 days after ovulation and is spotting. To do an hpt it is better to wait 4-5 days after a missed period. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions in the kit carefully.
