A member asked:

I am a young male in my twenties, i recently had a x-ray of my abdominals and it showed pelvic phleboliths. what can causes these? can these be related to my stomach and digestion issues?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Phleboliths, which are lumps of calcium in veins, are related to some damage in veins but causes are nebulous. In some cases.they are genetic & present from birth. Nongenetic cases also occur. Chronic constipation with frequent straining and bearing down to pass stool has been mentioned as a possible cause.
