"He is the one cheating" implies you know he has had other partners and you have not. In that case, almost certainly he acquired the infection from another partner and transmitted it to you. What is the mystery? Both of you need treatment, preferably with doxycycline for 7 days (now the recommended treatment, not azithromycin); and both should be tested for gonorrhea, syphilis and HIV. Good luck.

Both of you need to be treated, and tested for other STDs as well. A condom may not protect against HPV, Herpes, LGV, syphilis, pubic lice etc. It would be prudent to see your doctor for an evaluation. Visit this site for information: https://www.cdc.gov/std/default.htm Wish you good health!
