I am about 5-6 weeks pregnant but my cervix does not "feel" closed. i have had a child 5 years ago and my cervix never has "felt" closed since than. i am still waiting for my ob to schedule my first visit. is this something i need to be worried over?

The cervix anatomy is a cylinder-shaped neck of tissue rather than a simple opening of the uterus. What you feel or see is just the external os. If you had a successful pregnancy before, you should not worry much, just wait for the OB visit.
