Glands: There are small glands on the areola. They are sebaceous glands and secrete an oily substance. As long as they are not painful or red and inflamed, this is normal.

Not to worry: There are many ducts and glands around the areola and these occasionally get blocked and fill with this white material that is made of oil and skin cells. I recommend leaving these alone unless they are big, painful or bothersome.
