I got few hsv 1gg test in recent past which were negative but recent one came +ive; only risky exposures was sharing food/drinks with friends or is there a possibility to get it from spouse -15 yrs of marriage , may be it was dormant and reactivated?

HSV is present in two forms, HSV I and HSVII, one is genital and one is oral, but IgG tests can be positive with either. Oral HSV via contact with an infected individual can be communicated w/o genital transmission, and since HSV is very communicable, most adults will have a positive HSV IgG, and a positive does not require genital contact.

Confused about HSV - even with no active sores, HSV can be transferred but dormant? Sounds like HPV, asymptomatic carriers pass virus and receiver won't get symptoms. Is that correct? I thought no lip sore meant sex is safe and no infection risk?
