A member asked:

If i never had any major allergic reactions in the past, i grew out of a slight peanut allergy and have seasonal allergies, am i at major risk for anaphalaxis when taking amoxicillin?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You should be at low risk for having an allergic reaction to amoxicillin. There may be an increased risk of allergy to amoxicillin with a history of penicillin allergy due to chemical similarities. People with seasonal allergies and asthma might have a slightly increased risk of allergy in general, but anaphylaxis would be very unlikely
