My daughter wants her belly button pierced, we made an appointment for this afternoon, then remembered we just had to treat a spot under her arm for a staph infection. the spot is completely dried up now. is it safe for her to be pierced today?

Excellent question. She may be at increased risk for infection of the piercing site, because many people with staph skin infections have staph all over their skin. On the other hand, the actual risk probably is low. It's probably safe to go ahead, but with a close eye on the piercing site during the next week, and quick visit to the doctor if inflammation or pus appears at the site. Good luck.
