A member asked:

Is a mass the same as a tumor?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A mass is a group of cells or other materials stuck together in a swelling or enlargement. A tumor is a mass formed by abnormal cells, but not any mass has to be a tumor. A tumor does not mean necesarily cancer, it can very well be benign.
