Why would someone need a full sleep study after having a home apnea monitor study that showed sleep apnea?

To get any third-party insurance to pay for the expensive equipment and supplies, a person needs to meet the criteria set by the insurer. Most require a monitored sleep study that demonstrates a specific number of apnea events per hour and evidence of a negative effect on the body. The equipment and supplies are by prescription.
