Hi, my period was supposed to end two days ago. yesterday it was bleeding rather noticeable and today it's still spotting. what is going on? i'm not on any medications nor birth control?

This is often caused by some hormone imbalance or because of an anovulatory cycle ( no egg). See a gynecologist if things don't normalize for you with this spotting or the next period.

The normal duration of a period ranges from 3 to 10 days. Although it tends to be consistent month to month for most women some variation is normal, especially when younger and still maturing. Continued observation is all that is necessary at this time and consult your gynecologist if you have continued concerns or questions.
