Does adhd cause memory loss. school is a struggle, i fail to remember what ive been taught despite me being interested. failing exams and finals. neurologist did mri eeg blood work everything normal, adhd was his diagnosis. no improvement with meds?

Is the neurologist treating you for the ADHD? If so, you should be seen by a mental health professional, preferably with a special interest in ADHD. Rather than memory loss I would attribute your poor school performance to inability to focus, pay proper attention or even to inability to put in the effort into your studies, all of which are characteristics of ADHD.

Agree with Dr Colantino, as if you do have ADHD, your cognitive struggles would be a secondary effect. However, would strongly urge second opinion with a psychiatrist, and get this more thoroughly evaluated. Neuropsychological testing may be needed to clarify all of your issues. Medications need precision to find the most successful result. Hope these approaches help.
