The difference could be due to either the LH surge in AM time or the difference in urine concentration. The test will be negative if your urine is diluted. You should use an ovulation test strip between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. and try to do it at the same time each day. If you want to test twice a day, I would suggest do it at noon and 7 p.m. each day.
