If the numbness is because the shoes were too tight, it should resolve within a couple of hours once the shoes are off (assuming nothing else that is tight is put on your feet!). If it does not resolve, you should have it looked at by a foot doctor. You should also not wear those shoes again! Hope it gets better ASAP! Good luck to you!

Location suggests a mild sural neuropathy. This can occur due to short or long-term pressure events and shoes may be culprit on occasion. Most clear within a few hours, but some may last longer if nerve coverings have been injured. These problems are usually non-progressive. See a podiatrist if this persists.
