A member asked:

What causes a 'torpedo' belly in pregnancy? is that called breech baby?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"Torpedo belly" generally references a very protuberant belly, generally late in pregnancy, sometimes looking a bit "pointy". This is not a medical term. The shape of your belly will be affected by your build, your pelvic configuration, and whether your abdominal muscles separate (diastasis recti). It is not associated with gender, position (breech or vertex), or size of the baby.
