A member asked:

Sometimes i will get palpitations that take my breath away (gasp for a breath). they only happen at night laying down, and will even wake me up from sleep. lots of cardiac work up normal. is this common?

Concerning. Did you wear an outpatient heart.monitor for at least 2 days& if you did, did it show any arrhythmias when you experienced symptoms? If no symptoms occurred you should wear a long term monitor until palpitations occurred. It's very important to determine whether you're actually having abnormal cardiac rhythms or not. Apparently your BP,heart exam, EKG & thyroid function were normal.
