A member asked:

I had a hemorrhage in the 13th week of pregnancy and the doctor gave me progesterone and spasmex. are there side effects on the fetus?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If the dates provided ("13 weeks") of your pregnancy are accurate, and you are sexually active, the bleeding may come from cervical inflammation, not the pregnancy. Giving progesterone at 13 weeks will not correct the production of progesterone from the placenta, and will not effect the growing fetus adversely.
