Is it normal to feel light headed, palpitations, flushing, and very slight difficulty breathing after mixing sangria and tequila for the first time? this has never happened before and the symptoms went away after an hour or two?

I would check to see if the wine ( sangria) has sulfites in it. Some people are allergic to sulfites and may have a reaction such as you described. It is best to avoid mixing drinks or excessive consumption of alcohol, especially since you have such side effects.
