If a 4th gen combo test was negative at 6 months after exposure, you do not have HIV. However, it does not exclude other STDs like herpes, chlamydia, gonorrhea, HPV, syphilis, and trichomonas etc. It would be prudent to see your doctor. Wish you good health! The tests are correct to the degree of their specificity. No test is 100% no matter how often done. It is best you use precautions during sex encounters. Good luck
