A member asked:

I had a neck ct done for chronic sore throat. being treated for lpr. the ct showed aberrant origin of the right subclavian artery. is this something that needs surgery if its not causing any symptoms? or can it be left alone?

Leave it alone. You are one of many with a physical abnormality of blood vessel development that has had no effect on your life to date and should not in the future. It would have no relationship to the throat issue.

Arterial and venous structural anomalies are not uncommon and usually are benign and of no consequence. There is no need for any concern whatsoever, but if you need further understanding, meet with you physician and discuss.
