A viral illness usually takes 3-5 days to resolve, either upper respiratory tract or GI tract infection. Symptoms are usually peak on day 2-3, then improve. Viral illness of the GI tract is self limited and there is no treatment for this problem. You should maintain good hydration and take medication as needed for the symptom such as fever or diarrhea.
