Find another reason: If someone is known to be hepatitis b surface antigen positive, whether or not it's well-controlled it's not likely to cause anemia. I would look for another reason for being anemic -- a non-supplementing vegetarian, very heavy periods, GI loss of blood, or any of dozens of other common reasons.
