With symptoms described, the IUD may have been forced by uterine contractions into the cervical canal, which will cause pain, intermittent bleeding and dysparunia (pain with sexual activity). The IUD may need removal and later a new IUD inserted. Ask your GYN physician about low dose oral contraceptives which may be a better alternative.
