A member asked:

What does it mean if your blood is thick, sticky, and is barely going up the tube when collected?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It occurs if your red blood cell count is abnormally high ( polycythemia, erthrocytosis) , but often it's due to a difficult venipuncture or using too small a vein with subsequent low flow. Dehydration is another cause.
