When you catch yourself taking shallow breadth, make conscious effort to breathe normally. You may be having panic attacks that is mild.

Reduce stress and anxiety. If you develop worsening shortness of breath with exertion or a persistent cough, please see your PCP right away. Cardiac and Pulmonary conditions may also cause shortness of breath. If you are otherwise healthy and feel stressed, vocal cord dysfunction may contribute.
