It isn't possible to tell only on the basis of what is expressed from the cyst. Pain, swelling and redness are more accurate indicators of possible infection. If none of those are present, and if the expressed material doesn't have blood or yellow pus, probably it is not infected. But check with a doctor if any doubt of if any of these symptoms appear.
