If the large toe is discolored and black and blue but the nail is not involved then I would consider seeking a vascular surgeon immediately. The possibilities of you throwing clots to the extremities from your heart or anywhere else in the body is possible. I have diagnosed a 96% closure of the carotid artery via this method
