Ever since i began backpedaling on my elliptical, my quads have gotten larger. should i begin forward-pedaling to decrease the size??

It is important in exercising to balance the muscle groups to avoid joint strain, however I doubt that forward pedaling is going to decrease size of your quads. You may decrease frequency of backpedaling and tone all other muscles by varying the type of exercises you do.
