Suggest a visit to a podiatrist. An injection to the heel at the spur may help. Over time orthotics have been proven very useful.

Your symptoms are classic for plantar fasciitis. It makes no difference if you have a heel spur or not the pain and cause and treatment are usually the same. Rarely does the spur need to be surgically removed. Stretching Achilles and calf muscle is very important. Custom orthotics are sometimes required for this condition. I recommend seeing a podiatrist
