If you have an abscess due to an infected tooth, you need root canal therapy or an extraction.

Root canal treatment is often recommended when the infection (cavity) in a tooth causes irreversible harm to the contents of the pulp chamber of the tooth and spreads via the circulatory system to other organs. Isn is a decision to be made by your Dentist or a specialist Endodontist after a focused examination, appropriate tests, and appropriate x-rays. Infected teeth do not self heal.
