I had the viral hepatitis-a infection for 6 weeks but now i'm fully clear of the infection. the doctor has told me my liver will gradually recover from the damage sustained but has given no medicine for it. i'm confused, will it recover on it's own?

Yes, there is no specific treatment for hepatitis A that usually results in lifelong immunity after the acute episode and as opposed to Hep B and/or C that tend to become chronic and need timely treatment with specific antiviral drugs.

Yes. Liver has a remarkable ability to recover from hepatitis as long as the connective tissue framework is intact. In the case of hepatitis A, if it does not kill you, it results in complete recovery. Get vaccine for Hepatitis B.
