The definition of ovulation is the release of the egg from the ovary. This occurs prior to the start of menses. Once the egg is released and there is no sperm present , fertilization does not occur. Instead menstrual period occurs. It is unlikely to ovulate during the last day of your menses/period. I hope my answer helps.
