Irregular menstrual periods are common, especially in the teen ages. The fluctuations of estrogen and progesterone can be easily affected by stress, exercise, weight gain/loss, lack of sleep, diet/hydration, thyroid problems, and many other things. The situation typically self corrects and the menstrual periods become more regular around age 18-20. Not possible to predict as they vary monthly.
